That is 6 transfers
and almost 9 months served.
The 7th transfer sees me serving in ...... Bellbird Park Ward. And My Companion.... and I break a record for this Area serving 3 transfers together which has not been done in at least the last 3 years.
So Me and Elder Acevedo Crespo serve together for another (this time 9 weeks) transfer. The 9 weeks is due to a change happening for the MTC in which the program will be reverted back to three weeks for normal missionaries. Which also changes a few other things but that will be sorted out somehow.
My Thought from this week comes from one of my favourite Scripture Masteries in the Book of Mormon. And it focuses on the principle of Faith.
Alma 32 reads : And now as I said concerning Faith - Faith is not to have a perfect knowledge; therefore if ye have faith ye hope for things which are not seen which are true.
Faith is the first principle of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We cannot do anything unless we have faith, even it is the smallest tiniest bit.
Faith in its simplest meaning is not only a word which means belief or to have a hope, but it is also a showing, or action in what we do believe.
For example. If you have Faith that America/Australia/Russia/England exists when you have never seen it. You are showing Faith, Faith that someone else has seen it even though you haven't.
So what do you do to act on the faith that America or any of those other countries exist? You buy a ticket you jump on a plane and you fly over there. Boom Faith Acted upon. And because the Faith was acted upon you know with a surety that it exists. So when we use our faith to do, we open ourselves to get more faith.
Think of Faith as a Ladder you start with
A Desire
Then you get a Belief
Then you Hope.
Then you gain an Assurance
Then finally you Know.
Of course there are more little levels between each of those steps but those are the basics that can help you progress your faith.
And Progression is what our Heavenly Father wants from each of us, to progress our faith up to infinity and beyond. There is no limit in how much faith you can have.
And Faith in Jesus Christ and his atonement is what leads us to know with more surety and clarity of the things that we can do through Jesus Christ because of the Atonement and when we use that in our lives, then we can overcome the World and its temptations and trials that it throws in our way.
I know Heavenly Father loves me and every single person in the world.
I know Jesus Christ Lives, and I know he loves me.
In the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
