Transfer 7!

25th January  2015

That is 6 transfers and almost 9 months served.

The 7th transfer sees me serving in ...... Bellbird Park Ward. And My Companion.... and I break a record for this Area serving 3 transfers together which has not been done in at least the last 3 years.

So Me and Elder Acevedo Crespo serve together for another (this time 9 weeks) transfer. The 9 weeks is due to a change happening for the MTC in which the program will be reverted back to three weeks for normal missionaries. Which also changes a few other things but that will be sorted out somehow.

My Thought from this week comes from one of my favourite Scripture Masteries in the Book of Mormon. And it focuses on the principle of Faith.

Alma 32 reads : And now as I said concerning Faith - Faith is not to have a perfect knowledge; therefore if ye have faith ye hope for things which are not seen which are true.

Faith is the first principle of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We cannot do anything unless we have faith, even it is the smallest tiniest bit.

Faith in its simplest meaning is not only a word which means belief or to have a hope, but it is also a showing, or action in what we do believe.

For example. If you have Faith that America/Australia/Russia/England exists when you have never seen it. You are showing Faith, Faith that someone else has seen it even though you haven't.

So what do you do to act on the faith that America or any of those other countries exist? You buy a ticket you jump on a plane and you fly over there. Boom Faith Acted upon. And because the Faith was acted upon you know with a surety that it exists. So when we use our faith to do, we open ourselves to get more faith.

Think of Faith as a Ladder you start with
A Desire
Then you get a Belief
Then  you Hope.
Then you gain an Assurance
Then finally you Know.

Of course there are more little levels between each of those steps but those are the basics that can help you progress your faith.

And Progression is what our Heavenly Father wants from each of us, to progress our faith up to infinity and beyond. There is no limit in how much faith you can have.

And Faith in Jesus Christ and his atonement is what leads us to know with more surety and clarity of the things that we can do through Jesus Christ because of the Atonement and when we use that in our lives, then we can overcome the World and its temptations and trials that it throws in our way.

I know Heavenly Father loves me and every single person in the world.
I know Jesus Christ Lives, and I know he loves me.
In the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Transfer 7 around the corner

18th January 2016

This week has been really good.

We were able to see some awesome miracles. One is one of the Less-Active members, who we have been visiting. We challenged him to read the Book Of Mormon and he accepted and as an added challenge I am going to read it with him to see who finishes first. He is super keen on learning as well and so I can't wait to work with him more closely.

This week I have been studying through the Chapters of 32 - 34 of the book of Alma, and I have been able to understand more about the things that are written in them. One scripture I do like though is in Alma 34:31 - 32

31 Yea, I would that ye would come forth and harden not your hearts any longer; for behold, now is the time and the day of your salvation; and therefore, if ye will repent and harden not your hearts, immediately shall the great plan of redemption be brought about unto you.
32 For behold, this life is the time for men to prepare to meet God; yea, behold the day of this life is the day for men to perform their labors.

So My Goal this week is to repent. So I can know more about the Plan of Salvation(Plan of Redemption)

Big News.... Kidding

4th January  2016

So this Last 4 days since I have emailed have been all right, but yesterday was pretty awesome, we took one of the YSA (Young Single Adults) out wiht us and we taught some pretty powerful simple lessons!

True Miracle was finding out that I am awesome.... wait... I already knew that... (Taylor no comments are needed!)

It was awesome being able to go and see everyone yesterday and also meeting the different people on the streets, there was this one little girl we met that just reminded me so much of Jordy(My sister(The awesome sister that is(:P Tat)haha))

And I just had some absolute fun talking to her because she was so excited about everything.

I also have decided that in three years I am going to have a babysitting business (So if you need one I am here in two years :D  )

Anyway.
This week has been awesome, some powerful but spiritual moments have encompassed this week and there are miracles waiting to happen.

One of my favourite scriptures for this week is found in

Alma Chapter 25

15 Yea, and they did keep the law of Moses; for it was expedient that they should keep the law of Moses as yet,for it was not all fulfilled. But notwithstanding the law of Moses, they did look forward to the coming of Christ,considering that the law of Moses was a type of his coming, and believing that they must keep those outward performances until the time that he should be revealed unto them.
16 Now they did not suppose that salvation came by the law of Moses; but the law of Moses did serve to strengthen their faith in Christ; and thus they did retain a hope through faith, unto eternal salvation, relying upon the spirit of prophecy, which spake of those things to come.

and this one in Alma Chapter 23

And thousands were brought to the knowledge of the Lord, yea, thousands were brought to believe in the traditions of the Nephites; and they were taught the records and prophecies which were handed down even to the present time.
And as sure as the Lord liveth, so sure as many as believed, or as many as were brought to the knowledge of the truth, through the preaching of Ammon and his brethren, according to the spirit of revelation and of prophecy, and the power of God working miracles in them—yea, I say unto you, as the Lord liveth, as many of the Lamanites as believed in  their preaching, and were converted unto the Lord, never did fall away.
I know that the reason I am here is to help others realize that through the Atonement of Christ all mankind can be saved, and part of my Mission is to help them grow their faith so that they can be converted to the Lord and never fall away

In the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

According to Mum Week 33 on the count up

31st December  2015

Just seeing that number 33 weeks that is Insane I can distinctly remember that this time last year I was working at McDonalds (Like literally exactly this time) and It was the worst shift of my LIFE.

But now one year on, here I am in the Bellbird Parks Clerk Office, writing an email to people that I haven't (Bar my Family cause it was Christmas) seen in almost 8 months.

It has been awesome to say the very least, even in the hardest and slowest times there is always the next day to look forward to.

These last 2 weeks have been awesome especially cause it was Christmas.

What's something I learned this week... Anything can Happen with God's help.

When I first go tin the area I met a Woman by the name of Patricia who had been met by previous missionaries. Something that she told me that first visit is that we would never ever see her at Church. Due to some circumstances this week she asked us to come around and just help calm herself down, amazingly it worked and with the help of Scriptures and talking to take her mind off of the main concern we helped the calmness come back in.
Later on in the day we came back to see how she was doing (as per her request) and talked with her for a little bit longer until her daughter's Father came with her daughter back home. After saying a quick pray of gratitude she expressed fully her desires to change and her desire to come to Church this Sunday.

It was awesome for me on two instances. One I got to see God's hand in the work we do. Two I now know how to calm someone down in that situation. I can use that in the future

Love You All and as we all prepare for this New Year I hope there is something that we can do to make the next year BETTER!

Christmas Skype Call

25th December  2015

It is the most anticipated call for any family member when they get to talk to their missionary. So this is how it went for us.

We had a group Skype with some in Bountiful, lots in Brisbane, a couple in Colac and us. Fun, fun, fun.

We had decided to do a family item each. Ours was Feliz Navidad.
video's won't play. Please contact me and I will send you a copy
And Elder Fankhauser had a special announcement to make.

This is what they looked like when he first got his braces.

This is what they look like as per the Christmas Skype

So because of his surprise he hasn't shared many photos. So he has given more to share now. Yeah!
